Clementine, a lovely black cat with bright orange eyes, has recently gone viral on TikTok for her Halloween-appropriate fur and eye coloring. Clementine is a 2-year-old British short hair living in London. She was adopted by her owner, Rachel, along with her sister, Cecilia, a blue British short hair.
Clementine has fascinated viewers online who are curious if her orange eyes are the result of a filter or health condition. Her owner advises that she’s perfectly healthy and her eye color is natural, however.

Orange eyes were originally developed by British cat breeders who wanted an eye color that could stand out in vivid relief against any coat color. Many breeds can have orange eyes, including Devon Rex, Japanese Bobtail, American Wirehair, Main Coon, and Turkish Van. Orange and copper eye colors are considered rare, but not as rare as odd-color (each eye a separate color) and dichoric (eyes that are two different colors).
