Way back in November 2009, The Muppets released a cover video of Bohemian Rhapsody that is one of the greatest Muppet music videos of all time. How did they keep a song with lyrics like “Mama, just killed a man / Put a gun against his head, pulled my trigger, now he’s dead” family friendly? Well, they replaced all that with just Animal singing “Mama” over and over again, and it actually works quite nicely.
The Queen cover by The Muppets was an instant viral hit with over 10 million views within the first couple weeks and, as of this writing in 2024, has over 181 million views! But with anything on the Internet, people forget quickly and some people never see these things in the first place, so it’s good to bring them back into focus from time to time.
