I don’t know why it’s relaxing watching cats and dogs being groomed, but it is, even if it’s often stressful for the animals. I guess it’s just nice seeing the results and knowing that being clean and mat-free is good for their health. Also, the reactions of pets to grooming, ranging from enjoyment to fear to pure rage, can be quite amusing.
My favorite of these video are from Vanessa De Prophetis, better known as “Girl With The Dogs“. I like the calming way she talks to the animals while also explaining to us, the viewers, exactly what she’s doing and why. She grooms a wide variety of dogs and cats, many of which other groomers have turned away because of their personality.
According to her website, Vanessa quit hairdressing in 2011 to work at a local grooming shop. I don’t blame her. It’s got to be a lot more fun working with animals than humans. After a year at the shop, she left to open her own business, and she started filming her grooms for TikTok in 2020. Her videos now get millions of views, so I guess I’m not the only one that gets a kick out of them. Check out her TikTok, Instagram, or Youtube Channel for more cuteness.
